Guided tours for individual travelers Pfullendorf

Pfullendorf, Germany

Get to know the former Free Imperial City of Pfullendorf with its beautiful timber-framed houses, historic buildings and sandstone cellars on one of the public guided tours.

The town of Pfullendorf is over 800 years old and has a rich history. The wide range of guided tours offers a large selection and invites you to immerse yourself in the town's past.

Historical city tour "Auf Staufers Spuren":
Enjoy a short journey through time, during which you will get to know, among other things, the town's landmark: the Obertor, with probably the most beautiful double gates in the Lake Constance region.

Guided tour through the Pfullendorf underworld (cellar tour):
Visit the unique historic sandstone cellars beneath the old town, e.g. the Felsenkeller, and learn more about historic Pfullendorf as part of an exciting guided tour of the town.

Half-timbered tour through Pfullendorf:
The half-timbered tour through Pfullendorf is a real highlight for lovers of traditional architecture. It is not for nothing that the town has been a member of the German Half-Timbered Route working group for years.

Monastery history from Pfullendorf:
Only very few people know that the former imperial town was also home to various nuns from the early Middle Ages onwards. Our tour guides will take you on a journey to the "obvious" but also the "hidden" and give you an insight into this rather unknown history of the town.

Guided tour with the barmaid Josepha (alias Hanna Stauß):
If you want to take a look behind the scenes of the "good old days", you should follow Josepha the barmaid. In costume, she takes you back to the glorious times around 1774, when Pfullendorf was still an imperial city. She talks as she pleases and reveals a secret or two.

Guided tour with the robber (alias Michael Skuppin):
Even in the Middle Ages, society was divided into different economic and social classes, providing a breeding ground for crooks. The crook "Grandscharle" takes you on a robber's expedition to the Pfullendorf of 1820, teaches you the basics of the Rotwelsch language and imparts interesting facts about the life of a crook in an entertaining way.
The family tour with the robber representative Max Elsässer is ideal for children and parents. Armed with a small booklet of questions, the kids start at the Obertor.
In addition to dark prison cells in the former city gate, there is much more to discover.
