Hoher Kasten cableway
Brülisau , SwitzerlandOn Eastern Switzerland's panoramic mountain, you can enjoy special summit experiences with boundless views, culinary highlights and extensive hikes. In just eight minutes, the Hoher Kasten cable car takes you from Brülisau directly to 1794 m above sea level, past idyllic hilly landscapes and typical Appenzell farmhouses. Once at the top, your gaze wanders over six countries (Germany, Austria, Swiss Alps ans Swiss Central Plateau, Italy, France).
You can experience the boundless 360° view on the barrier-free European circular trail that leads you around the summit. In the only rotating restaurant in Eastern Switzerland, where your view changes again and again over the course of an hour. In addition to unique views, the rotating restaurant offers excellent cuisine with local and seasonal dishes.
The Alpine Garden, the plant paradise on the summit, also leaves a lasting impression. Over 300 plant species unfold their colorful splendor there. The Hohe Kasten is the ideal starting point for various hikes in all directions.

Barrier-free access to the summit
With the new inclined lift, the Hohe Kasten can be accessed and traveled barrier-free from the valley station to the rotating restaurant.
The Hohe Kasten has been awarded the Begrünerpreis 2021 and was named a best practice example with the Europa-Rundweg and Alpine Garden.
