Schloss Waldburg in der Nähe vom Bodensee

Waldburg Castle

Waldburg, Germany

A treasure chamber from the time of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. Waldburg castle is one of the best preserved castle complexes in southern Germany and one of the emblematic sites of Upper Swabia. From its high hilltop, it dominates the entire region and is visible from far away. In 1220, Emperor Friedrich II entrusted his imperial regalia to the Waldburgers, who kept them safe for more than 20 years in Waldburg Castle. Today, you can see faithful reproductions of the crown, sceptre, imperial orb and spear in the treasury.
