Omas Kaufhaus

Omas Kaufhaus exhibition and showroom, Meersburg

Meersburg, Germany

This is where childhood dreams come true. Hand-crafted collectors’ metal ships travel along a water channel that passes through the entire floor of the house while metal toy trains make their choo-choo rounds. There is also much to learn about steam engines. Generations of enthusiasts have created worlds with model-making sheets from the Schreiber Company. One show case is entirely devoted to the enchanting Hummel figures and their origins. It’s not just little girls who are delighted by the bears’ theatre and sweetly furnished art nouveau doll’s house.
