Gigantic flying boats, passenger planes of bygone times and exciting exhibits related to space flight transform any visit to the Dornier Museum Friedrichshafen into a unique experience. Located right next to the airport, the largest museum of technology on Lake Constance is home to a world of experience spread over more than 6,000 square meters. Some 400 exhibits, numerous original aircraft and space flight exhibits bring the pioneering spirit of the past century to life.
On a guided tour through the museum, amusing anecdotes and interesting facts bring the development of aviation and the pioneering achievements of engineer Claude Dornier to life. Countless world records, patents and technical achievements document the impressive history of the Dornier company. In the new children's space exhibition, there are some special exhibits for young and old explorers to marvel at. A collection of extraterrestrials, fantastic space Lego models and a Mars station of the future also make the exhibition an experience for young astronauts.
Boredom on vacation? Not at the largest technology museum on Lake Constance. The Dornier Museum offers an exciting museum adventure for families with children during the vacations. With the Tonie Box puzzle tour, young visitors can discover the museum in an exciting way and learn all kinds of interesting facts about 100 years of aviation and space travel. The children's quiz also awaits with tricky tasks and on the mini pedal plane course, the little ones become pilots themselves in the museum hangar.
During the vacations and from May to October, the museum offers a public guided tour every day at 11.30 am. The exhibition can be experienced interactively with the new Mediaguide for smartphones. Current offers and dates at dorniermuseum.de.
The large terrace of the DO-X restaurant offers a unique view of the zeppelin hangar opposite: here you can watch the zeppelins and scheduled flights from Friedrichshafen Airport take off and land to your heart's content.
