The Olzreute Enzisholz site is a typical example of a smaller Upper Swabian silting moor settlement. The settlement layers are an exceptionally well preserved example of the Goldberg III-group with wooden buildings and other finds.
Peat mining in the 1940s revealed the initial finds from Olzreute-Enzisholz. In 1982, the State Monuments Office conducted research from 2004 and most recently in 2010/11 with drilling and small-scale excavation sections.
There are three occupation phases at this site. Three large disc wheels and two small model wheels show different manufacturing techniques, and offer important evidence to the historical development of vehicles.
No information at the site.
The Upper Swabian open-air museum village Kürnbach is located near the site.
