The unique work of art fascinates vi- sitors with its furnishings, paintings, sculptures and stucco work. In addition to the library hall, Schussenried Monastery is now home to a new museum dedicated to the monastery’s history that features a changing selection of art exhibitions. A former Premonstratensian monastery, plans for the “new” monastery complex were created by Dominikus Zimmermann and built by Jakob Emele in the 18th century. The highlight of the monastery complex is the light-flooded library hall.
