Hohenems, AustriaHoused in the Heimann-Rosenthal villa built in 1864, the museum covers the period from the 17th century to the present, exploring themes ranging from the precarious existence of “Jews under special protection” through religious life and civic emancipation to persecution, exodus and extermination under National Socialism. The museum offers multilingual audio guides and a special exhibition for children 6 and up. In the museum café, visitors are treated to Jewish wedding cakes and coffee, bagels and kosher wine – which can also be enjoyed in the garden in the summer.
